“Parents as Teachers” of Catawba County Schools hosted a Family night on Jan. 19, 2010.

 The theme was “Our Town”.

More than 100 enrolled children and their families enjoyed an evening of pretend play as they explored different stations set up as a restaurant, grocery store, post office, construction site, and much more.

 

“Parents as Teachers,” a Smart Start initiative, is a home visitation program for children birth-5 years.  Developmental activities and parenting skills are two of the many components for this kindergarten readiness program.
