 Bus Drivers

Requirements for  Becoming a Bus Driver

To become a bus driver for Catawba County Schools, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid driver's license for a minimum of 6 months
  • Pass a physical examination as required by State Law
  • Pass qualifications as determined by NCDMV
  • Complete the Bus Driver Training Class* sponsored by Catawba County Schools and the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV)

*The Bus Driver Training Class consists of three (3) days of classroom training and three (3) days of road training.  These days are not consecutive.


Catawba County Transportation would like to thank all of our bus drivers for their dedication and hard work in transporting the students of Catawba County.
