General Information:

Show me the Money: Fundraising! - The Media Coordinator, Sarah Justice that serves both Rosman Middle and High School offered many ideas on fundraising some that had worked and some that did not work at all.  One idea that I thought was good was a 5k walk/run, she called it Bookin' It 5K.  https://www.runsignup.com/Race/NC/Rosman/BookinIt5K
This allowed the whole communitty to become involved in raising funds for the Media Center.  She contacts sponsors to help support the event and sells t-shirts.

Proving Your Worth:  Parents tend to view the media specialist in schools from their own image as a child.  Times have changed.   The perceived worth is lower for middle and high school media specialist than elementary.  This media coordianator created charts and graphs about the media program including circulation and collaboration which were displayed on a wall in the media center for everyone to see.  One idea I want to implement is a sign-in sheet where students indicated which teacher sent them and what their goal is.
